Yes, I am still addicted totally to Instagram and now follow 635 people!

Here are my latest favourite people...

This Wild Idea is a selection of photographs from Theron Humphrey.  Most of which feature his Best Friend Maddie the Coonhound.  Maddie is very photographic and poses in and on the strangest of objects and places.  She even has her own book titled Maddie on things which you can buy here.

Charmaine Olivia is an artist from California.  She mainly paints images of beautiful women in bright colours but my favourites are the beautiful silhouette cameos she creates.  Her instagram feed also contains lots of photos of Charmaine in her studio, which looks amazing as does the woman herself.

You can see more of Charmaine and purchase her work here.

Viviolifashion is a Mothers Photographs of her cute children.   I am completely in LOVE the photos of her childrens rooms, these are just Amazing!  With gorgeous colours and styling, these interiors look like they belong in a fairytale.

Hand Lettering Co is a business born out of a love for hand lettering.  Chris is a very talented lettering artist and creates these beautiful works of art containing scripture verses.  Although I am not religious I still love all their photos.

Tou can visit their website which has free downloads and prints for sale here.

Dear Little darling is Petra a wedding stationery designer.  Her instagram feed is full of photos of her beautiful stationery and also beautifully styled wedding shots.

★ CANVAS COMPETITION ★

Back in October I held a canvas competition for the year 9 textiles pupils of Walkden High School in Salford, Manchester for the fourth year running.

I showcased my University Textiles work, images and samples of my greetings cards from Hallmark cards, images from my Art designer job and also my latest freelance and "Rankidoodle" work.

The pupils had to design and create a canvas which included a word, a pattern, a stitch and an object.

Me and Miss Quinlan (textiles teacher) judged the competition and I picked three lucky winners!  The winners will receive their design printed on to a canvas to keep (3rd - 20x20cm, 2nd - 30x30cm & 1st - 40x40cm)

So here goes (drum roll...)

I chose Freya Dolby for third prize as I really liked her original theme and wording.  All the desired elements were there and the design was jolly and colourful and was executed really well.
Well done Freya!

★ ★ ★

I chose Deia Lamberts design for second prize as I thought it was really pretty.  I liked the contrast of the detailed flowers with the black silhouette.  The stitching detail is nice and neat and the composition works really well.  Well done Deia!

★ ★ ★

I chose Emily Pike for First Prize as her design was really fun, bright and colourful.  I could tell a lot of work had been put into creating the design.  All the desired elements were fully met and there was lots of (neat) stitching.  Well Done Emily!!!

I am really looking forward to setting the competition again this year.  You can see the winners from past years here and here.
